Former President Maithripala Sirisena is to deliver the keynote address at the 2022 World Peace Conference in Seoul in South Korea, in which 157 countries will participate. He was officially invited to deliver the keynote address jointly by Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, former Secretary-General of United Nations and the President of Cambodia.
The former President accepted the invitation and left for Seoul by Singapore Airlines Flight No SQ 469 this morning (February 10).
The 6th President of Sri Lanka, Maithripala Sirisena has been invited to address the World Peace Conference in recognition of his relentless services for the protection of human rights in Asia as acknowledged by the United Nations.
The former President will meet several world leaders during the Conference in addition to delivering the keynote address and is scheduled to return to Sri Lanka on February 14.
